Department(s)
Description
This workshop is a general introduction to Java for students who have some prior programming experience in Python or C++. Students will leverage Java's strengths (object-orientation and platform-independence) to solve a variety of general programming problems. Students will download and install the current version of JDK (Java Development Kit) together with Eclipse, the most commonly used Java development environment. Using these tools, standard programming structures (functions, loops, conditional expressions, objects and classes) will be explored by writing applications hosted on each student's PC.
