Description
This is an introductory biology course for liberal arts and career majors, which covers a survey of biodiversity, basic properties of living organisms, metabolism, energy transformations, cellular reproduction, Mendelian genetics, molecular genetics, gene expression, evolution, and ecology. Laboratory exercises consist of experimental procedures illustrating basic concepts of biology. Skills covered will include measurement, record keeping, graphical analysis, microscope use, and dissecting techniques. STEM and some technology majors should not take this course—students should check their degree requirements closely.
