Apprenticeship I

Description

In this apprenticeship course, enrolled students will participate in a paid apprenticeship with a designated firm. The course will employ, in part, the experiential learning framework. The apprenticeship placements will be based on students’ field of study, their completion of the majority of their major requirements, invitation by the department to apply, participation in pre-apprenticeship skills bootcamp, and successful completion of the interview process. Upon acceptance, students will be become an active team member in an industry-leading company and utilize the knowledge and skills learned in their coursework. Students who successfully complete the apprenticeship and excel in their positions may be offered permanent full-time positions by the apprenticeship company. This is the first course in a multiple-course apprenticeship sequence. Depending upon the length of the apprenticeship opportunity and number of credits needed, students will be required to enroll in CWE 41, CWE 42, and CWE 43.
